All North Carolina basketball teams have been eliminated from the NCAA Tournament as of tonight. UNC lost tonight so all teams from NC are out of the NCAA tournament now. Not a typical NCAA outcome for UNC or Duke sadly. Maybe next year!
Last spring many attractions in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway were closed due to federal budget cuts (and the October government shutdown), but this year there will be more campgrounds and buildings opening earlier in the spring. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park will soon be opening the secondary roads that have to be closed in the winter due to winter weather, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is set to open the campgrounds and buildings earlier this year than they opened last year. Most campgrounds  and picnic areas on the Blue Ridge Parkway have an opening date of May 9, 2014. Concession facilities start opening March 15 with the Parkway Craft Center at the Moses Cone Manor at Mile Post 294 and Peaks of Otter Lodge open on April 11 at Mile Post 85.6.

Join in on the CROP Hunger Walk Sunday March 23, 2014 in Carrboro, NC. The 2014 Chapel Hill/Carrboro CROP Hunger Walk will be held this Sunday. The walk starts at 2:30 PM with registration at 1:30PM at the Carrboro Town Commons 301 W. Main Street. Honorary Chairs of the CROP Hunger Walk are Aaron and Sonja Nelson.There will be three different walks you can participate in:

Easels in the Garden will be held for 2 days in April in Historic Edenton, NC. On April 25 and 26, 2014 Easels in the Garden will have Private Garden Tours, Music, Garden and Design Workshops that cover floral design, gardening and outdoor entertaining; Artists at Work for public viewing, and a Children’s art activity area.
