StriperFest 2014 2-Day Event This Weekend in Wilmington

Downtown Wilmington is the place to be Friday and Saturday Jan. 17-18, 2014 for the StriperFest. Friday Jan. 17 is the StriperFest Banquet and Auction. Bid on fishing gear and tackle, beach vacations adventure tours and more while dining at the catered banquet at Coastline Convention Center. 

Saturday Jan. 18, 2014 is the StriperFest 2014 Tag & Release Tournament-a Striper Tournamnet with guide and anglers partnered with fishing biologist that catch, then tag and release striped bass. The info helps biologist understand the life cycle of the striped bass population. The boats leave the docks  at the Coastline Convention Center about 9:00 AM. Then stick around for the activities all day long. Fun and education for the whole family.

Titans of the Ice Age 3D Movie at NC Museum of Natural Sciences

The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences is playing Titans of the Ice Age 3D in the museums’s WRAL 3D Theater. The museum describes the 3D movie as  “Titans of the Ice Age transports viewers to the ancient icy landscapes of North America, Europe, and Asia, investigating the causes and results of the ice age as we attempt to understand the Earth’s past and better prepare for its future.”. Bubba the Ram News

Poor Bubba the ram, he is going to be auctioned off on Jan. 31, 2014. Bubba escaped one day but from where no one knows. He was at large for several months. He was spotted on several occasions here and there. Once at The Streets of Southpoint, then at GlaxoSmithKline in the Research Triangle Park, then several times in some backyards in Durham County.

The auction will be at Elodie Farms in Rougemont at 9522 Hampton Road for 10:00 AM in the morning. If anyone want to see Bubba before the auction please contact Dave Artigues at 919-479-4606.
