Wright Brothers Fly at Kill Devil Hills 110 Years Ago Today
The Wright Brothers National Memorial celebrated toady Dec. 17 the 110 year anniversary of the flight at Kill Devil Hills at the Outer Banks of NC.
The First Flight Society and the National Park Service honored the accomplishments of Wilbur and Orville Wright at the 110th anniversary celebration of the first heavier-than-air powered flight. Events included an aviation flyover, wreath-laying ceremony, and the induction of William Edward Boeing into the First Flight Society’s Paul E. Garber First Flight Shrine.
Members of the Wright family will be present.
Carolina Panthers Win Again and Headed to the Playoffs
The Carolina Panthers beat the New York Jets 30-20 this Sunday in Charlotte. This win means they are headed to the playoffs, but first they meet up again next week with the New Orleans Saints whom beat the Panthers last week.
Bonner Bridge Reopens!
The Bonner Bridge to Hatteras Island at the NC Outer Banks has reopened to traffic after being deemed safe to travel on by the NCDOT. Repair work will continue and inspections will continue over the next few week to make sure the bridge is safe to remain open.
