The SAS Championship 2013 golf tournament is October 7-13 at the Prestonwood Country Club in Cary. Golf winners from this Champions Tour season (John Cook, David Frost, Michael Allen, Brad Faxon and Jeff Sluman) have committed to play in the SAS Championship presented this year by Bloomberg Businessweek. It also features nine World Golf Hall of Fame members including Sir Nick Faldo, Colin Montgomerie, and Tom Kite.

The first game of the regular season is tonight October 4 at 7:00PM  for the NC professional hockey team the Carolina Hurricanes. The Hurricanes play the Detroit Red Wings in Raleigh, NC at the PNC Arena. Along with the hockey game there is music, tailgating and a bouncy house for the kids. The Canes had a 3-3 preseason record.
