Do you like hot sauce on your food? Then you may want to go to the 8th Annual North Carolina Hot Sauce Contest in historic downtown Oxford on Saturday Sept. 13, 2014. The event will take place from 11:00am to 4:00pm. Last year there were over 12,000 people attended the NC Hot Sauce Contest. The contest has several different categories of hot sauce:
- Best NC Mustard Based Sauce
- Best NC Vinegar Style Sauce
- Best NC Tomato Style Sauce
- Best NC Mild BBQ Sauce
- Best NC Hot BBQ Sauce
- Most Unique NC Sauce
There is the NC Pepper Eating Contest which is always fun to watch! Breweries and wineries, hot sauce and barbecue sauces to buy. A Car Show, activities for the kids, crafts and local shops open to enjoy. Music by Streamline in the morning and Big Love in the afternoon.
