Part of Cary Parkway Closing Monday for Work:

Part of the Cary Parkway will close for 28 days (thru the middle of August) for contractures to improve the Cary Parkway and Old Apex intersection. The closure begins Monday July 14, 2014. Detour signs will guide drivers around the closed roads.

Improvements include:

• 1,500 square yards of new asphalt
• 300 linear feet of new sidewalk
• eight upgraded traffic signals 
• eight new pedestrian signals
• and marked crosswalks
