North Carolina Tourism Brings Record Spending
North Carolina tourism is a booming business for the state. Last year North Carolina had close to 50 million tourist to visit the state. And they set a new record for money spent in North Carolina. Reports just released state North Carolina tourist spent just over $21 billion last year which is a 5.4% increase from the previous year of 2013. North Carolina is the 6th most visited state in the United States. (California is #1 due to Disneyland and Hollywood!)
Some of the most popular North Carolina attractions that tourist enjoy are: the Outer Banks, the Great Smoky Mountains, Biltmore Estate and Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, The North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro, the USS North Carolina Battleship in Wilmington, Chimney Rock State Park, Grandfather Mountain, The North Carolina Aquarium with four locations (two at the Outer Banks and two at The Crystal Coast) and Carowinds and the NASCAR Hall of Fame near Charlotte.
With all the beautiful places to visit in North Carolina its no wonder the state is in the top 10 states in the nation for tourism. No matter what time of year somewhere in North Carolina there is a sight to see.
