The Holly Day Fair for 2014 is November 6 – 9, 2014 in Fayetteville, NC at the Charlie Rose Agri-Expo Center. This is the largest holiday gift and craft show in Eastern North Carolina. The four-day holiday shopping event is a great place to start your holiday

shopping. There will be over 200 vendors with many different types of gifts to choose from: crafts, jewelry, Christmas decorations, toys, clothes, food, and so much more. The Holly Day Fair is at The Crown Expo Center in Fayetteville, NC at 131 E. Mountain Drive.

An All-American BBQ Festival and 5K run will take place at When Pigs Fly BBQ Festival in Fayetteville, NC on November 15, 2014. The location is at Festival Park from 11:00am – 6:00pm.

The BBQ competition will be sanctioned by the North Carolina BBQ Association and include three categories: Whole Hog, Whole Shoulder, and Whole Chicken. Entertainment with Oak Grove String Band, Supatight, Big Daddy Love and Doc Aquatic on Saturday. And the 5K Run. For the children, there will be the “Kid Zone”. And beer tasting for the adults.

The annual Piedmont Craftsmen 2014 Fair will be November 22-23, 2014 at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem this year. The fair will have over 130 fine artisans with all types of arts and crafts including glass, wood, jewelry, printmaking, metal, clay, and more. This is a great place to start that holiday shopping. There is sure to be a fine selection of unique and beautiful arts and crafts at the fair. This is a popular craft fair with vendors from all over the southeast showing their work. The North Carolina Museum of Art has an interesting exhibits Small Treasures now through Jan. 4, 2015. The exhibit features  “66 paintings by the world’s greatest Dutch and Flemish painters, including Anthony van Dyck, Adriaen Brouwer, David Teniers, Frans Hals, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Jan Steen, and many others.” “The works in Small Treasures showcase the quality, skill, and diversity these artists brought to their small miracles in paint” the museum website states. Art lovers will enjoy this special showing of some of the most famous Dutch artists work in these Small Treasures at the Meymandi Exhibition Gallery at the North Carolina Museum of Art at 2110 Blue Ridge Road in Raleigh, NC.

A Shopping Spree sponsored by the Junior League of Raleigh will be October 30- November 2, 2014 at the Raleigh Convention Center. This year is the 30th annual shopping spree. Get some Christmas shopping done early or just go and have fun and get into the holiday spirit early! Four days of shopping, vendors too numerous to name but will include crafts, jewelry, spices, food, kids items, candles, oils, flowers and wreaths, and so much more.
