Music Food Beer and Wine Festival Celebration

The Music Food Beer and Wine Festival Celebration is taking place in Kinston, NC in October. The three-day events will be October 23-25, 2014. Thursday kicks off the event with “An Evening of Jazz”. Friday will be a wine/sake tasting; food and beer pairing; B.O.B. Bash (BBQ, Oysters and Beer) with entertainment; trolley tours. Saturday events include Farmers Market local produce breakfast; brewing booze cruise and guided beer tasting; concerts and party; the wine shop tasting event, and twisted trolley tours. Liberty Antiques Festival

Antique lovers, the Liberty Antiques Festival is this weekend Sept. 26-27, 2014 in Liberty, NC. Over 400 antique dealers from over 25 states will be at this antique festival. It is held twice a year and this is the fall antique festival held at Liberty. It takes place on the Pike Family Farm which is located near Liberty. One hundred acres of 18th, 19th and 20th Century furniture and accessories. This antique festival will take place rain or shine. Carolina Panthers Play Steelers Tonight on NBC

The Carolina Panthers play the Pittsburgh Steelers tonight. The game starts at 8:30 pm and will be televised on NBC for Football Night in America. The Carolina Panthers are 2-0 and the Steelers are 1-1 the season. The Panthers are 1st in their NFC Southern Division. This is a great start to the 2014 football season. The Carolina Panthers have the hometown advantage with the game being played in Charlotte at the Bank of America Stadium. Go Panthers!

14 ft. White Shark Off NC Coast

Katherine, the female White Shark off the NC coast has returned. OCEARCH shark tracking website is showing Katherine who is a white shark off NC coast again. She has been here before and now she is making another pass. She is 14 ft. 2 in. long and weighs about 2,300 lb. Recent pings from her tracking device on OCEARCH locate her recently off the North Carolina Outer Banks in the Nags Head area. She is headed north toward the Virginia coast. She is well out to see but it is interesting still to see the shark activity just off the North Carolina coast!

Where to View NC Fall Colors

Here is some information on where to view NC fall colors this October. The mountains of North Carolina is a great place to head to in the autumn to view the leaves changing colors. The highest elevations will change first so places like Boone, Blowing Rock, Mount Mitchell and Grandfather Mountain are great places to go in early October. As the weeks progress the mid-elevations will peak next. This includes Asheville and surrounding areas. Mid to late October peak fall foliage occurs in the southern North Carolina mountains with elevations about 2,000 feet. This would be in the Cashiers and Highlands region.

The Blue Ridge Mountains that are located in Western North Carolina have varying elevations so there is always a location at or near peak color change in the month of October as you travel in the mountains or on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Just make sure you bring a camera or video to capture the beautiful views!

NC Seafood Festival in October

The NC Seafood Festival takes place at Morehead City, NC on October 3-5, 2014. This is the 28th year for the popular coastal festival celebrating North Carolina seafood. Multiple stages will be set up for music, performers, and cooking demonstrations. Arts and craft vendors, food vendors and wine vendors and exhibits. Also a boat show, family fishing tournament, road race, sailing regatta and the Blessing of the Fleet. This is a fun filled three day event that takes place in Morehead City at 412 D Evans Street.
