Next year in 2015 Carowinds will have the world’s tallest and fastest roller coaster. The Fury will be a giga coaster that will be 30 stories high and be a 3 minute and 25 seconds thrill ride. The Fury will stand 325 feet tall and the ride will simulate the flight of a hornet! Can’t wait till next year at Carowinds! If you love a roller coaster this will be a ride to try. The world’s tallest and fastest roller coaster or giga coaster! Awesome!
The Carolina Panthers player their 3rd preseason pro football game tonight at 7:30PM (ET). The Panthers play the New England Patriots in New England at Gillette Stadium. The Carolina Panthers are 1-1 in the preseason with 1 win and 1 loss. New England is also 1-1 for the preseason. Panther quarterback Cam Newton is suppose to play the first half in tonight’s game giving him and rookie wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin more time to bond as quarterback and receiver before the regular season starts in a couple of weeks.
The NC fall foliage 2014 forecast for the mountains of North Carolina is out and biologist of Western North Carolina report the possibility of duller colors for the annual fall foliage show due to a wetter spring, Tulip poplar trees like it wetter than average so their colors of yellow and golden may last longer this year. The pretty red colors this year may be less than normal due to the wet spring and summer. But if September is dry the red colors of the sourwood, red maple and dogwood trees may still happen when the fall foliage show arrives. This coming fall foliage show may be extended and last longer than usual due to the possible above-average temperatures forecast for fall. It’s a complicated equation but regardless a NC fall foliage show is always beautiful, some years better than others, but still beautiful!
The Rodanthe beach nourishment project is almost at the half way mark.Take a look at this picture from the NCDOT NC 12 Facebook page and see the big difference it is making. Hopefully the widened beach north of Rodanthe near the “S curves” will protect Highway 12 on Hatteras Island from damage during storms. What a beautiful shot of the north end of Hatteras Island. Makes me want to head to the Outer Banks or the Crystal Coast for one more summer blast before September!
The Carolina Panthers have played 2 preseason games to start out this 2014 football season. A 2 point loss to the Bills in the first preseason game, and last night a win over the Chiefs with a score of 28 to 16. Two more preseason games and on September 7, 2014 the regular season starts with the Carolina Panthers playing the Buccaneers. Regular season pro football is almost here fans!
The Winston Salem Open starts today in Winston Salem at Wake Forest University. The Winston-Salem Open is a men’s professional tennis tournament played on the ATP Tour. The Open is from August 16-23, 2014. The tournament takes place at The Wake Forest University Tennis Complex located at 100 West 32nd Street, Winston-Salem, NC. Players in the Winston Salem Open include John Isner, Tommy Robredo, Kevin Anderson, and Jurgen Melzer (last year’s winner).
