Spring Pottery Festival in Greensboro in April

Greensboro, NC is having the Spring Pottery Festival on April 12, 2014 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at 100 Block of E. Lewis Street. That is in downtown Greensboro’s historic South End District. Admission is free. Over 40 regional potters will be at the Spring Pottery Festival.  There will be a large selection of all handmade local pottery for sale. Pottery for sale will include all types – functional, decorative, sculptured and unique.  In case of rain the festival will be the next day on Sunday April 13, 2014. Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team Playing in NC in April

The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team is going to be playing in North Carolina in April. The team will be in Nashville, NC on April 12, 2014 playing three different times. They will play against three Rocky Mount area law enforcement softball teams.

  • 10:00 am Wounded Warrior Amputee  Softball Team vs. Rocky Mount Police Department
  • 1:30 pm   Wounded Warrior Amputee  Softball Team vs Nash County Sheriff’s Office
  • 3:00 pm   Wounded Warrior Amputee  Softball Team vs  North Carolina State Highway Patrol Women’s All Stars

Games are at Glover Park on Highway 58 in Nashville, NC.

Directions to Glover Park-The park is on Highway 58.

If coming from the north or the south on I-95 take the Highway 64 exits and go west on Highway 64 to Nashville. Exit off Highway 64 onto Highway 58 at Exit 459. Turn left onto W. Washington Street heading into Nashville (passing through downtown). Turn right onto Highway 58. Glover Park is about 1.3 miles on the right next to Nash Central Middle School on Highway 58.

If coming from Raleigh on Highway 64 take Highway 58 exit (McDonald’s is on the right) at Exit 459. Turn right onto W. Washington Street heading into Nashville (passing through downtown). Turn right onto Highway 58. Glover Park is about 1.3 miles on the right next to Nash Central Middle School on Highway 58.

Concession Stands will be open for food and drinks!

Jersey Boys in Greensboro

Jersey Boys the musical is coming to Greensboro, NC at the War Memorial Auditorium April 1-6, 2014. Homeless Jesus Sculpture in Davidson Causing Controversy

A Homeless Jesus sculpture is causing quite a controversy in Davidson, NC.  The Homeless Jesus is a sculpture by Timothy P. Schmalz that shows Jesus lying on a bench outside St. Alban’s Epsicopal Church wrapped in a blanket. Only a small part of the face is showing, but the wounded feet are visible. From a distance some people have thought it was a real homeless person sleeping on the bench. Some residents approve the sculpture but others do not. The “Homeless Jesus” sculpture is causing quite a controversy in the town of Davidson.
