NC snow skiing resorts open after recent snow fall. Cataloochee Ski Area and Sugar Mountain are both open after recent snow. Cataloochee Ski Area is open for snow skiing and snow tubing at Tube World in nearby Maggie Valley. Sugar Mountain has 4 ” open fresh snow and is open for snow skiing, ice skating and snow tubing. Reports from Henderson County are that growers for NC apples will harvest almost 3 million bushels of apples for the 2013 season. With all the rain early in the year growers were worried about the apple harvest for this year.
