NC National Parks Reopen Today!

NC National Parks to reopen. With the end of the government shutdown things are returning back to normal in North Carolina’s National Parks at the Outer Banks and at the Great Smoky Mountains. The reopening of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Wright Memorial, and Fort Raleigh will happen today. The Great Smoky Mountains where reopened yesterday thanks to NC and TN governors.

Great Smoky Mountains National Parks to reopen for 5 days

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park will reopen at midnight on Wednesday Oct. 16. The governors of NC and TN announced an agreement. Sevier County and Blount County in Tennessee along with the state of TN and NC will cover the cost.The reopening will only last till 5 days ( thorough Sunday October 20) unless the government shutdown comes to an end before Sunday.

October at the NC Zoo

The NC Zoo in Asheboro has a fun list of events for the month of October. This month the NC Zoo has  “HOWL-O-Ween”, “Batology” and “Boo at the Zoo.” Plan a trip to the NC Zoo for one of these spooky fun events as well as the animals and the 500 acres of exhibits. Open everyday 9:00am to 5:00 pm.
