The 301 Endless Yard Sale is going on NOW along 301 Highway in Johnston County as well as  Halifax, Wilson and Harnett Counties. Yard sales are everywhere along 301, in yards of homes, churches, schools and businesses. If you love a yard sale you will love this 301 Endless Yard Sale. At the yard sales are handcrafted and handmade items, antiques, odd and ends, unique items and so much more. Here are some pictures taken today along 301 Highway in Selma, Smithfield, Micro, Kenly and Wilson. The 301 Endless Yard Sale is today and tomorrow – that’s Friday and Saturday June 20 and 21, 2014. It is so neat to see all the cars stopped at the different tent sites with people walking around looking at all the yard sales. It’s really fun!

The United States Army Field Band Free Outdoor Concert
The United States Army Field Band The Volunteers will give a free outdoor concert on the courtyard at the Imperial Centre in Rocky Mount, NC July 1, 2014 at 7:00 pm. Seating is on a first-come basis. No ticket is required. The United States Army Field Band has been performing for more than sixty years. The band is the premier touring musical representative for the United States Army and performs a variety of music such including contemporary popular music, rock, pop, country, R&B, and of course our patriotic favorites. The Field Band and their concerts foster the support of the American people for members of our armed forces. Sure to be an great concert with the patriotic holiday weekend of July 4th just a few days away! Make plans now to attend this FREE concert!

Raleigh Classic Car Auction 2014 at NC State Fairgrounds
The Raleigh Classic Car Auction 2014 is this weekend June 20 and 21, 2014 at the NC State Fairgrounds. Over 300 high quality collector cars will be there. Beautifully restored classic cars like a 1950 Studebaker, a 1947 Cadillac, a 1966 Lincoln, a 1936 Ford, a 1965 Cobra and many many more. Sale time both days is at 9:30 am. This classic car auction features extremely rare cars with low mileage. Come to buy or just come to brows to see the beautiful classics.
Ticket are $10 for adults, $5 for kids under 12. At the Jim Graham Building at the NC State Fairgrounds. Nice and cool indoor event! For the car lovers of any age. Don’t miss it!

Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge Fire in Dare County on Mainland
The Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge fire in Dare County on the mainland almost out. The 10 acre fire that started on Friday in the Deep Bay Fire in Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge in Dare County had spread to cover 62-acres but has now been controlled according to reports by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. No fire or smoke was seen Monday and with rain overnight that should really help. The fire did not affect travel on Highway 64. The cause of the fire is unknown.
